Me & The Sea

A sudden whiff of fresh salty air,
And I stop with a jerk in my path,
The sea and me share a love affair,
I had to go and blow a kiss in the air.

My restless heart went on a flee,
And with a whim demanded to play,
Nothing else but only 'Beyond the sea',
And to hum along 'she is watching me'.

As always, I question why doesn't she fit into my view,
I wonder as I sit by its side and gaze into its depth,
She questions my restricted view, asking me to see through.
I blink, wipe my glasses; hoping my range of sight would improve.
She laughs her heart out with a mighty roar,
Offended I say, thou are full of arrogance and vanity!
Cauldrons of water plus salt and nothing more,
Forget the million metaphors that you stand for!

She gets annoyed and recedes away,
Melodrama, the sky and horizon together say,
Yet I plead her to rise and stay,
My emotion turn the clouds teary and grey.

Oops, I see that a storm is brewing,
That explains her mood swings,
So long I say, I will be fleeing,
Stopping our repartee for the time being.

There is something serene about the sea,
It takes me to a tranquil place in my heart,
To that special place it always holds the key,
And I hum along 'Swallowed in the sea'....
