A Rainy Thought
Filtering my thoughts in a colander,
Sitting in front of the porch,
On a drizzling late august evening,
Enjoying a clandestine affair,
A cup of coffee in hand,
Thoughts stirring in the Kew,
Confetti of feelings,
The warmth of autumn sun fading through the trees,
Shimmering pearls falling from my sky,
And I stretch out my hands,
Trying to gather them all,
Beads of pearl slip from my small hands,
But then I realize,
There are hands holding a cauldron,
Gathering them for me.
I look up at the sky,
Murmur thanks for all the caring eyes,
To be blessed with love and care.
Sans them life would be incomplete.
Being right next to me,
Even in the rain soaked night.
Strewing the coffee cup in my hand,
I smile as rains continue to batter,
Lights flickering away one by one,
I promise myself to be their lifeline.
